Lodge We Love: Sylvan Lake
Stay at Sylvan Lake Lodge and see Custer State Park's crown jewel for yourself. Rich in history and natural beauty, the lodge is situated in a spot suggested by architect Frank Lloyd Wright—within a hillside forest of pine and spruce trees, in harmony with the beauty of the rugged landscape. Located at the northern entrance to Peter Norbeck Scenic Byway, granite spires surround.
How do I book a room?
You can start exploring cabin and lodge room options online; but careful! Inventory is varied, so try starting your search for only one day at a time. From there, if things start to look booked up, don't hesitate to give us a call: 888-875-0001. Often times, we have more openings available than what we are able to show in our booking engine.

When is the best time to visit?
As Custer State Park Resort is a summer family vacation destination, our Prime Season (and optimal weather) can be found in both June and July. (The low humidity of the hills + the higher elevation keeps even the hottest summer days very moderate).
For added value and stay specials, look to the months of May, August, September, and October; when school is back in session.
